Polar Bird, Friday, 23rd November 2001

A thick fog with occasional sleet lasted all day, bergs and growlers becoming more frequent. With the ship's doctor, Malcolm Arnold our group went through the remote field medical kit, a veritable hypocondriac's hamper with Adrenaline, Morphine and a formidable array of antibiotics, valium and sedatives. After dinner each of us gave a brief talk on our projects. It was still light near midnight.
