Polar Bird, Sunday, 25th November 2001

Stirred at lunch-time, still feeling quite merry from the night before. Slept a bit in the afternoon before undergoing a through helicopter briefing by Dave Pullinger, Ric and Lee, our pilots for the summer. Talent night was an enjoyable time had by all, with Doug Thost, a cabin-mate doing a good x-dressing musical. The evening sunlight was spectacular casting reddish shadows over the ship and the ice. Many of us spent a few enjoyable late hours on the bow watching the sun gradually dip down, finally setting at about 11.15 pm. Our cans of VB started to freeze if not finished quickly enough.
