Landing Bluff, Sunday, 23rd December 2001
The blizzard raged all night, shaking the huts violently with 55 knots and 60 knot gusts. The gale eased off
by mid-morning down to a more sedate 30 knots. I walked around the Russian huts, just in order to stretch the legs, sketching a map of the place to relieve the monotony of 18 days encroaching boredom. A couple of GPS fixes on building corners might also assist with photo control for the Data Centre. Snow was intermittently falling quite heavily, often as sludgy sleet which was causing serious melts to occur on the shallow snow drifts. Dinner was bangers and mash. We dug into one of the "extra's" boxes to retrieve some Kransky sausages.
