Beaver Lake, Friday, 4th January 2002

I slept until quite late, making up for the previous day. Besides the strong katabatics blowing outside right through the day, weren't very inviting. We all helped Anya assemble the solar panel frame at the seismic station and I caught up with some much needed washing and abluting. Tom and I organised a load of stuff for Andy including 120 litres of ULP in jerry cans, and a potty ! At last we had good comms from the sched and we received good news from RSES that the data transfer worked ! The Aurora Australis was now 50 miles from the Polar Bird on its rescue mission and they were preparing to fly all the expeditioners off the Polar Bird onto the AA to take them on to Mawson and others back to Oz. Very late for some. We also heard that Andy and Charlton might be heading down our way soon from Terra Savoje, so could expect some cricket matches on the Pagodroma ice pitch !
